You’ve tried to move from a painful past. It wasn’t easy. You feel unhappy, insecure and stressed more than you’d like.
You’ve tried a lot things to deal with the problems but they’re still there. You tried just getting on with your life but that hasn’t worked. You’d like to know how to make things better for yourself.
Wouldn’t it be great to meet someone who really understands what it’s like for you and really understands how hard things can get—and help you move on?
Someone who understands what you need—and how to get there. Someone who can teach you practical skills and techniques to to make the changes you want.
So, what makes me so confident that healing and recovery are possible?
I know because I’ve been there. There was a time when I was full of unhappiness and stress. My relationships were a constant struggle. I felt alone, and didn’t believe anyone could help me.
Ok, but why do I think it’s possible for you to make things better for yourself?
That was 25 years ago when I started to work on my painful past. I started reading blogs, books and the latest research on the devastating impact that past abuse, trauma and neglect can cause.
I understand how negative experiences from the past can result in a range of emotional and interpersonal problems.
I discovered reading the latest research and the latest treatments wasn’t enough. I found I couldn’t overcome the abuse by myself. I needed the support of someone who really knew how to help me heal from trauma and abuse.
I committed to weekly therapy and started to sort through the pain and confusion.
I learned how to develop strong, healthy relationships. I learned how to stop being hard on myself and now I treat myself like I would a good friend.
The anxiety and depression lost power and shrivelled up. My life got better in many ways. I had a full-time job that I liked, and a successful business on the side. But, something was missing.
I kept noticing people who were struggling, feeling stuck in unresolved issues from the past. I felt compelled to help because I knew four important facts:
1-how bad our experience of life can be
2-proven ways to heal emotional wounds
3- we don’t have to suffer
4-We can feel better about ourselves and our lives
I’m passionate about helping because I know how hard it is to find a therapist with the knowledge, expertise and understanding of how trauma and abuse experiences affects you—in so many ways.
Given the right support, anyone can recover from low self-esteem and relationship problems and feel good about themselves. It takes time, for sure, but it’s possible.
This work was so important and rewarding to me that I left my job and my business and went back to school so I could help people like you. I earned my masters degree in clinical social work, specializing in trauma and abuse treatment for adults.
After 15 years, I still very much love what I do. I love the success my clients see and I’d love to help you, too.
