My Winnipeg Therapist
Why We’re Here (aka, Mission)
“to assist clients in making real and lasting change.”
What We Strive For (aka, Vision)
We support our team in being their best so that clients get the best care we can provide. That means we foster growth and well-being in our clients and our amazing team.
Given the right support, most people can overcome great hardship and pain. That starts with providing a safe and supportive environment that welcomes diversity and difference in a place that recognizes and embraces the uniqueness of each other and the experiences we have in common.
Many therapies focus on addressing negative experiences. We want therapy to be more than that. We want to help clients reduce negative experiences as much as we want to promote greater well-being for our clients, and our team.
What We’re About (aka, Core Values)
1-Authenticity
We are deeply committed to promoting the mental wellness of our clients. An integral part of mental health treatment and wellness is self-authenticity. We are not about promoting to our clients. Practice what you preach, right? We support each other in showing up as we do in other aspects of our lives. This facilitates transparency and open communication where we all feel safe to share our views and values. That doesn’t mean we agree on everything. It does mean we are open to differing views. This creates an environment where we all feel seen, heard and valued.
2-Owning Your Stuff
Look, no one is perfect, and we’re not looking for perfect. We all make mistakes. Admitting mistakes and taking responsibility is what it means to own your stuff. Doing this promotes resilience and adaptability. This allows people on our team to grow personally and professionally. Adopting feedback and taking the opportunities to learn and grow promotes growth and learning.
3-Excellence-Oriented/Growth Mindset
We embrace a growth mindset. Clinical excellence depends on our time and effort to learn and grow. Clinical excellence is inextricably linked to our personal growth. Of course, we don’t expect each other to be perfect. That’s not what a growth mindset is. Rather, it’s seeing a mistake as an opportunity to learn and grow. Growth is a process that ebbs and flows towards better versions of ourselves personally and as clinicians.
4-Genuine Relationships
We exist to be in service of the people in our community. Genuine connections forms the foundation of every successful endeavour, whether it’s within our team, with our clients, or in serving the broader community. We prioritize open communication, empathy, and trust-building in all interactions, recognizing that strong relationships are built on mutual respect and understanding. By actively nurturing these connections, we cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment and unlock opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and shared growth.
